Katie and Chris chose Finca Marqués de Montemolar in Altea for their destination wedding in Spain and what an incredible choice it was. Nestled between the sea and the mountains, this venue is one of the most breathtaking spots I’ve photographed. With its sweeping views, lush olive trees and beautifully preserved historic buildings, it’s the kind of place that feels like a romantic film set, perfect for couples dreaming of a Mediterranean wedding.
From a photographer’s point of view, the possibilities for photos here are endless. Every corner of the finca offers something beautiful, whether it’s the sea view, warm golden light or those iconic Spanish architectural details. I was truly spoiled for choice, and I can’t wait to be back again.
Katie and Chris both got ready in two separate upstairs rooms at the finca and honestly, I’ve never seen a more perfect setup for morning preparations. The rooms are large, full of natural light, and styled with elegant, luxurious furniture that adds so much to the photos. One of them even has a spacious balcony, ideal for those relaxed, natural portraits before the day kicks off.
As a photographer, I couldn’t have asked for more. The soft light filtering through the tall windows, the neutral tones, and the quiet atmosphere made this part of the day feel calm and truly special. It set the perfect tone before the big celebration began.
The ceremony took place at El Mirador del Marqués, one of the finca’s most iconic spots. If you’ve ever dreamed of saying your vows overlooking the sea, this is the place. With panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the mountains behind, it created a dramatic and romantic setting for such a heartfelt moment.
Katie and Chris’s ceremony was filled with emotion and one particularly sweet surprise. Their ring bearer was announced in a way that caught everyone off guard and had the whole crowd smiling. It’s moments like these that make each wedding so unique.
After the ceremony, guests were welcomed into El Jardín del Ángel, a peaceful garden area perched high up on the estate. From here, you can see the old town of Altea and the coastline stretching out in front of you. It’s such a relaxing and beautiful space for guests to enjoy drinks, mingle, and take in the view.
This part of the day brought so much laughter, especially during the speeches. Chris’s dad had everyone in stitches as his speech was one of the funniest I’ve ever heard, and the laughter carried on long after he finished. These genuine, joyful reactions are always some of my favourite moments to capture.
Dinner was served at Fachada del Palacete y Camino de Cipreses, under a canopy of fairy lights that made the whole setting feel like something from a dream. A long banquet table was laid out beautifully with stunning floral arrangements and décor that reflected Katie and Chris’s relaxed yet elegant style.
Just before guests sat down, we took a few moments for portraits at Salón del Marqués, the same room where Katie had her final moments of getting ready. With its original furniture, neutral tones, and peaceful energy, it made for the perfect spot for some quiet and romantic portraits before the evening really got going.
Katie and Chris made their grand entrance with a Cava tower, a brilliant way to start the evening, followed by a delicious meal that brought everyone together.

As the sun began to set, we moved around the finca capturing those golden hour moments. The light at Finca Marqués de Montemolar is something else - soft, warm and so flattering. Every direction you turn offers a beautiful backdrop, from the olive groves to the mountain views and sea in the distance.
This sunset shoot was one of my highlights from the day. We wandered the estate, stopping at different spots that caught the light just right, and it felt like something out of a magazine, but even better, because it was all real!
Once dinner and cake cutting were done, it was time to party. The evening continued at El Patio, a charming courtyard wrapped in jasmine and bougainvillaea. The atmosphere here is intimate and full of character. The kind of place that invites dancing and laughter well into the night.
Katie and Chris’s guests did not hold back. The dancing, the energy, the joy, it was everything you want from a wedding party. There were moments of pure celebration and connection, and it was a joy to capture them all.
This venue is truly something special, especially from a photographer’s point of view. It gives you so many beautiful spots for photos without having to leave the grounds, which makes the day feel relaxed and flowing. From quiet corners for intimate portraits to wide open spaces for group shots and scenic views for romantic moments, it has everything!
Being part of Katie and Chris’s wedding at Finca Marqués de Montemolar was an absolute joy. Their day was filled with beauty, laughter and so much love, and I’m so grateful I got to capture it all.
